Hi, my name is Larry Lewis, I’m a blogger in County Durham, United Kingdom. Being a full time pro-blogger is great. I have the chance to connect with many wonderful people from all over the world. I have clients dotted around North America, Australia and Europe. What I find amazing is that although there are many who I work with to help build their blog and on line business, to this point I have made very few connections with people local to me.
I find that sad. I’m a top blogger now. I know my stuff, and make really good money online. I can show anyone how to do it. My course which is building up quickly with ‘students’ is going to help many people create a successful profit making online business. Yet nobody in the North East takes advantage of what we have to offer.
We build blogs and shops for companies all over the UK, but it seems that we’re the best kept secret in the North East. How crazy that really is.
Everyone loves where they live. When I say we, I’m referring to myself and my seo wiz kid partner Neil Haywood. We both live in County Durham. We would love to connect with others in our local areas, because we know we can bring an element of personalisation and help our local audience to build a fantastic online business. But where are they?
As a blogger I am one of the successful ones and profit from banner ads, google adsense, paid engagements, write product reviews and am working with some top people around the world. Yet I haven’t got noticed locally. Maybe nobody in this part of the world sees the value of blogging, so doesn’t need the support from a top blogger locally.
Maybe companies in the North East of England don’t realize the tremendous power, connecting brands with a blog. Boy have they got a lot to learn.
We try not to pat ourselves on the backs too much. Okay, once in a while, but could you blame us. Like today when one of our blogs hit 1000 daily visitors by 3pm, to us that is so singularly awesome that we just have to celebrate. I suppose we often have lots of reasons to celebrate, because our blogs and rest of our online presence often produce tremendous results.
Every week I go into a conference room or two and introduce people to the power of blogging. I have 5 blogs in the top million of alexa, and one blog that, well, if you know me, you know it’s a pretty successful blog. Yet have the colleges, schools or businesses in the north east given me a call, and said come share your secrets? Have they hell.
Blogging seems to be intriguing to some and yet terrifying to most. What most don’t realize is the sheer power they give to you. It still amazes me how many people hit my blogs each day and from where they originate. For example, in a 24 hour period, we’ve had visitors from Australia, Canada, USA, China, France, Italy, Greece and may other exotic locations.
But I just hold my hands up in disbelief when I see nobody from my local area coming near of bye me. Ok, thats not totally true. Maybe 50 or 60 of you, but that’s because you’re mates, so I’m not counting you lol.
Hey I’ve got a e-commerce shop that turns over thousands of pounds a month, yet we spemd now very little time on it. How many others local to us can provide the knowledge and skills that we have? Yet we provide our knowledge outside of our area.
As our course grows we can expect more people to find out about us, and who knows they may be county durham locals. Mean time we’ll just keep exporting our skills so others can build their online empires.
