Are you stuck in your own Groundhog Day and desperately searching for a catalyst for change to bring about vast improvement in your life?
I’m sure most of you have seen the movie Groundhog Day where weatherman Phil Connors, desperate to move on with his life, wakes up every morning to discover he is reliving the same day over and over again. Nothing changes.
Many of you feel like you are trapped in something similar. Some days it can feel as though you are merely drifting through life, getting nowhere, just stuck in a life of unhappiness and frustrations. Every day you promise yourself things will be different, yet every day is much the same. You wake up, going through the same routines as the day before, seemingly empty of energy, lacking in focus, simply going through the motions and achieving virtually nothing.
Are you happy with your daily routines, with your productivity, basically what you achieve day by day? Alternatively are you finding yourself unfocused, struggling to get going, seemingly wasting every day. So frustrated, annoyed with yourself, desperate to change, but you seem unable to do so?
Are your relationships, career choices, financial situation and other aspects of your life truly satisfying? Or do you feel there should be more?
I find it incredibly sad most people seem to lead a life of silent desperation. Feeling their life is ebbing away, fighting to maintain a positive outlook but desperate for clarity and answers, but coming up empty and life never changing, just meandering on to nowhere land.
Want to change this? Of course you do, but how?
What or who will be the catalyst for change?
According to the Law of Cause and Effect, every effect must have a cause. In other words, everything that happens has a catalyst; everything that came into being has something that caused it. Things don’t just happen by themselves. Ray Comfort
As Gandhi stated, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
But you’ve tried, done everything to motivate and get yourself going, but nothings worked.
Life should be about excitement, joy, passion, and happiness. Being stuck in a mindless routine doesn’t allow us to experience any of these things. We just become drones and that isn’t good for anyone. So accept things as they are no more and become your catalyst for change.
These are the steps you must take to begin being the catalyst for change in your life.
- Recognize that you are stuck
No more denial! Too often people live in denial, refusing to be honest with themselves and admitting how unhappy they are with their life. Your starting point is to face the truth. Recognise that you feel stuck, stalled in life, where all your big hopes and dreams seem like they’re further away than ever.
- Acknowledge it’s time for a change.
Don’t resist change! Accept how you’re feeling and crucially make the decision enough is enough, that you won’t let things go on like this anymore. You don’t need to give up a job, career or relationship right now as the result of this insight. Just push yourself to begin making changes, doing things differently.
- See your possibilities!
Explore your options, the things you can do to bring about change. By acknowledging it’s time to bring about change and looking for new solutions and different ways of doing things will start bringing about the change you desire.
- Accept you are responsible
We create our own reality. We have the choice to make today and every day either sad or happy, dull or inspiring, meaningless or fulfilling. You can bring whatever mindset you choose to the next 24 hours. You can make today better than yesterday; you can improve your life one day at a time. You have to commit to the change you want to bring about, stay strong and focused, not allowing yourself to full back.
- Take action
Basically you need to get off your tired ass and do something, something that will bring about the change in your life.
So if you’re not happy with your life no longer allow yourself to stay on the same road of unhappiness that you’ve been travelling down for so long, instead become the catalyst for change that you need. Yes only you can expect to effect change in your life.
