A keyword is a search word someone has entered into a search engine, ‘lifestyle’ for example. A keyphrase is a bunch of keywords together like ‘healthy lifestyle’ or ‘how to lead a healthy lifestyle’ etc. There are hundreds of thousands of searches entered into the likes of Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. The searches users type into the search box become keywords or keyphrases.
You can optimise your web page to try and get your website returned in the search results. This whole process is called Search Engine Optimisation or SEO for short. It’s a tearm all new bloggers, webmasters and marketers think they need to master. Although you need to know the basics of SEO, you certainly don’t need to be an SEO master. If you create a good page with useful content this will normally be enough when it comes to on-page optimization.
Now you know what a keyword is, the next step is to learn how to create a webpage so it will get ranked by the search engines for that chosen keyword. Ranked simply means to get returned in the search results when someone searches for your keyword or keyphrase.
