Failure taught me many valuable life lessons.
You can take everything I have!
I have experienced failure in both my personal life and professional career.
I lost my beautiful home
Gone through Bankruptcy
With that I lost all my bank accounts and credit cards
I lost one of my businesses and then another
I went from three cars to none
Then I lost 75% of my vision in my right eye
Finally my marriage of 20 years came to an end
I lost everything I worked my entire life to earn.
But I wouldn’t let it break me
In fact my failure taught me many valuable life lessons.
So now I share my story with others so as to allow my failure and the life lessons I learnt to be their teacher.
If my experience of hitting rock bottom accomplishes nothing else, I hope it serves to illustrate that no matter how bad things get, you should never give up. There’s always hope ahead.
As painful as my losses may have been I learnt so much from my failures and by applying the valuable lessons from them I have gone on to enjoy success one more time. And you could do the same.
Let me introduce you to 4 of the life lessons I learnt.
Life Lessons 1: Allow yourself to Move On
Nothing will change while despair and disappointment rule your mind. Until you can look towards your future you will not be able to bounce back from your adversity. You can’t turn back time. All you can do is move forward in life. You have nothing to gain by holding on to your past, constantly looking behind at what has occurred. You have to look forward and dream about future possibilities and hold on to those thoughts and push ahead towards them. That’s exactly how we have one on to building our new business, knowing what we want and working our butts off to make it happen. Never wasting time thinking about what I once had or the mistakes we’ve made on the journey. Don’t live in the past especially in “pity city”
Life Lessons 2: Live your life with no regrets.
Most people are living ‘way’ beneath their skills, talents, and abilities. They are so much more than what they have become. It’s critical that you make the most of every minute. Die empty, having given all that you are to the world; because you only live once. Go after the impossible. Set your sights on what you want to accomplish and don’t relent until you arrive at your intended destination.
“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”
Simply make the most of your life because you only get one.
Life Lessons 3: Don’t waste time
You have to make the most of every second you have. I can’t stress enough how important our time is. Don’t waste your time–it’s the only resource you can spend but never replenish. It is one of the most precious resources you have. When you use time wisely focusing on the right things, doing what’s necessary you give yourself the best chance to succeed.
Life Lessons 4: Perseverance is Priceless
Never give up, you have to stick to your dreams and keep taking action no matter what stands in your way. Are you prepared to persevere till you get to your desired destination? As you strive to achieve your dreams, you can count on there being some setbacks and disappointments. Don’t get discouraged, the road to your dreams may not be an easy one you just have to persist.
“We can do anything we want to do if we stick to it long enough.” Helen Keller
If you want to succeed in life and turn your dreams into a reality, start to learn from life lessons. Keep pushing, and never give up.
