Once you discover your strengths you will be rearing to go and you will soon be shouting your message to the world in no time!
In the last few weeks I’ve been working with people who on the one hand are really excited by the idea of blogging, but are terrified of having to find their own unique style, or in other words, their blogging voice.
These same people have struggled to find the subject around which they could build their blog. They have been indoctrinated that to make money online, they’d have to follow the network marketing model. Find products that have a good ‘pay plan’, and write about them. I couldn’t think of anything more boring, frustrating, or in fact totally wrong.
I make a lot of money selling products on line. I do this through my ecommerce shops. I write maybe one post a week to promote them. The rest of the time I’m writing about what I love, personal development combined with health and fitness. The other thing I sell, is me. I’m a coach, personal development and building a business on line around your passions are the two main areas I coach people in, and I get to write on these subjects all the time. It’s what I love to do. And everyone can do the same thing, no matter what your subject of passion is.
Follow the words of Steve Jobs:
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” – Steve Jobs.
Throw yourself into doing stuff that you enjoy and your business will explode. And your voice will be so much easier to find.
I truly believe that much of my success is based on the fact that I JUST WORK TO MY STRENGTHS. I don’t get hung up by my weaknesses, I just make sure those things I’m good at makes up for them. Honing my strengths has attracted the people and opportunities that have always come my way.
Maybe this is my magic, I chose to follow my passions, and use my strengths to build a business. Simple formula, maybe I should package it.
So how do you discover your strengths?
Maybe first you should be asking, what is it you enjoy doing?
I love to write, whether a blog post, an eBook or a course. I love coaching other people and see them grow and develop. I love speaking, whether standing on a platform in public or behind a camera in a webinar room. I also love creating something new, and when I look at my websites and see where they are now compared with where they once where, I’m still knocked out by the difference. So you can see my business is 100% built around the things I enjoy doing. You can and should be doing exactly the same.
What makes you feel energetic?
Whether I’m sitting at my desk, or in a 1-2-1 in my local Starbucks, or standing in front of a room talking to people I’m completely at the top of my game, fully charged, and full of life. That is how you feel when you not only do what you love, but what you’re good at too.
So, what do you do well? Come on, find what you’re good at, and leverage that to build your business.
With a better understanding of your abilities, expressing yourself fully, and putting them to use alongside your passions will make your life once and for all successful.
So make the choice to do things and no longer accept putting in the long hours doing things that bore you and getting nowhere. It is now time to unleash your brilliance because you can achieve anything if you unlock your passions and strengths.
