Things are never as bad as we think. I live in County Durham a region once famous for the coal mining industry. Working down the mines was one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs imaginable. You worked long hours, for low pay and what we would now consider dreadful working conditions. I can’t even imagine what life must have been like.
When you do think of the miners and how hard the jobs were that they did, it puts into perspective how hard we at times find our work and the progress we’re making. I don’t doubt that things can be difficult for you. You’re trying to build an online business, and to this point you’ve been unable to make very much money, if any. Yet you have bills to pay, a mortgage or rent to keep up with, food to put on the table, and children who are always asking for this or that.
Yet, you know there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Very little risk of a roof collapsing in on your head, or any of the other disasters that faced a miner on a daily basis.
When things were tough for me, I admit I looked back and thought, hold on a minute, no matter how bad things are, I still had a car, mobile phone, lap top, internet connection, television … I could go on. These things which are pretty standard for many of us which once upon a time were luxuries or only available for the super wealthy.
Please don’t get me wrong. I say again I know how hard it can be trying to survive. For a period I went from a very high income, around £10,000 a month, that was my take home salary to less than about £1000. Things were tough, I had to fight to keep what I had, but never was my life in danger, or was there a risk that my family wouldn’t have a roof over their head. Even though I was about to lose my house, with its indoor swimming pool and all the other things that made it my ‘dream house’. Having to take my girls out of private school was probably the thing that hurt me the most. But none of it really mattered, and it certainly didn’t knock the stuffing out of me. Their was nothing I could do about my situation, but I knew I was in control of my future.
So yes I know how hard life can be, what struggles we have to go through. Yet not once did I lose heart. At no time did I not believe that I could rebuild things all over again. I determined that I would create a happier life, one where I spent more time with those I loved instead of all my time working. That I would find myself work which would align with my passion, instead of making money for others who never appreciated what I did for them, and would stab you in the back if it would look good on their profit and loss sheets.
I’ve taken an interesting journey since then. It certainly hasn’t been plain sailing. But my life has taken some twists and turns. I found my way into Personal Development Life Coaching, a profession I love and which aligned with my passion, my hobby, my interests, it was just the perfect job for me. Helping others face up to their challenges, Rekindling their dreams, igniting their careers, helping them achieve more in life. Not only do I get paid very well for it in monetary terms, I also am shown by them their complete appreciation and gratitude for making a significant difference to their lives. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing you’ve helped someone.
I developed an ecommerce business around my love of blogging, or should I say because of my blogging. How else could I spend so much time doing this thing I love? If I’m going to spend 4 hours a day writing blogs and the others things I have to do as a blogger, well I had to find a way to pay for it.
It was obvious were I needed to start. I’m a fitness fanatic as well as being a qualified physical fitness trainer so selling supplements was a no brainer. Then specialising in combating stress, and overcoming fatigue other herbal remedies were added to my shops, and I created courses and eBooks which I could sell.
I could go on and on telling you what we’ve done, and I’m sure one day I will. What I want you all to know is that what we’ve built, we’ve built from scratch. We’ve never been able to find a genuine working blueprint which gave us the model we wanted. We made mistakes, hit big walls, but as I said yesterday we kept going, kept building, kept trying things out.
That’s the point. No matter how hard you find things right now, be a terrier, keep fighting away, experimenting, follow your gut, and there’s a great chance you’ll succeed.
My life is now better than ever. Not long now before I make my base in Majorca. And the greatest thing in my mind. As a continuation of my life coaching job, I’m now helping people find the answers to how to make money online. Because yes we have a model, and we are attracting the right people who bring their passion and sincerity to our team. Like us they want to make a difference, they want to follow the path of helping others in the right way. Once they’ve learnt the secrets, they’ll be passing them on to others. Life’s about sharing, and as you climb the ladder in life, give a helping hand to others to get up that ladder too. That’s the way life should be.
