Inspire comes from the Latin word for inspirare meaning to breath upon or into. When we’re being inspired, a breath of fresh air can be infused through us, and our souls lifted into action. When you discover your inspiration then the possibilities are endless. There are very few better feelings than the one you have when you discover your inspiration, it creates within you passion, energy and belief.
Sometimes we get so stuck in survival mode that we can’t see the wood from the trees. Sometimes when you’re trying to reach a goal, it’s impossible to connect the dots between where you currently are and where you want to be. Somehow you just have to trust and have faith in others who may be able to guide you on to the right track.
My advise for today is that you really can make a living doing what you love. Considering that most people spend the majority of their time at work, and how they feel is a reflection of what they spend most of their time doing, it’s easy to see why so many people look just look so unhappy. They hate their work.
There is an alternative. The amazing thing is most people just can’t see how they could possibly use what they love to build a business. I believe I met such a person today.
He talked with such passion. His words conveyed pictures to my mind, I was absorbed by everything he was saying. And while he spoke I was thinking, wow, if only others could listen in on this conversation. His enthusiasm alone would motivate them, his knowledge would give them the ability to make such progress in their business.
One of his biggest problems is accepting that he can take this knowledge and transfer his business acumen to an adventure online. His from the old school. Business is business, you do it face to face, company to company. Well he needs to learn, he can do it all and more on line.
He can take what he did, change it to be completely the parts that he loves, and build a phenomenal business online. Hey, id pay to listen to his podcasts, watch his videos, read his ebooks, take his course. I know he can teach me a lot.
But doing work you love is about more than just making money; it is about being fulfilled by your work. You could hear the way he talked about his subject not only does he have a wealth of knowledge, a depth of understanding but a passion for it too.
My suggestion to him is check out what others are doing online. Have other entrepreneurs been successful in the same field online?
He needs to be realistic about what he has to offer. Again, do some research. Speak to people to gauge the demand for his product or service. Then ask himself, can I give people what they need, and make money while helping them.
But the biggest decision he has to make is value himself. Realise he has so much to offer, and this online world is a place where many people will appreciate him and be thankful for his presence.
The irony is that he possesses such talents that people will be knocking his door down to work with him … if he found the right platform.
So he has the passion and the skills now he just has to align them to the best community to which he can serve … and that exists online. .
So my advise to him … just go for it
And my final point, one of my favourite sayings, you’re never too old to start something new. Talking to him, another 50 something just like me, he could remember how it felt when he was at his best, in the good old days when he was a 20 something. The world was his oyster. He was full of energy. Few responsibilities. Great social life. Well I want him to realise, our best days aren’t over, there is so much we can still do, and a legacy to build. So get on with it, you’re now entering a new phase in life. And it should be exciting.
This is one of the things I love about my life. When others look inside desperate to find inspiration and come up empty, I am there to ensure I rekindle the fire in their belly to keep them going and they know when they feel themselves running out of fuel, they can look to me to recharge their engines.
And to you my readers … be inspired. be ready to dream again and follow your passion wherever it may lead..
