By you reading this I guess it demonstrates that you are somebody looking to build a bridge to your future. You know there’s something missing in your life, you feel dissatisfied a lot of the time, and you are in truth desperate to improve your lot.
You are at a crossroads. You aren’t where you want to be in life. Something’s missing!
Maybe now’s the time to dream once more.
You know the dream, it is the one you used to have maybe as a child, but you gave up on it long ago.
The one that may well build a bridge to your future.
“My dreams are my dress rehearsals for my future.” David Copperfield
No matter how bad your life may be right now, I want you to find strength in the fact that your future is yet to be written. You’ve heard that statement before, surely? Well it’s true! Things may seem bleak, and you fear things are going to get worse in the future. But do they have to? Starting now, could you not find solutions to your problems, change things, so that you can create a far better future than you are imagining right now.
Of course you can, your future isn’t set in stone!
So, you can build a bridge to your future, one far better than your current reality. But don’t just read about it, get ready to do it.
At some point, you come to realize that the life you are living really is not satisfying you. It is mediocre at best. This realization represents the beginning of great hope for you.
Let me explain.
In a months’ time I’m sure many of us will get to watch the movie ‘A Christmas Carol.’ Some of you may even read the Charles Dickens book. A character we will meet is the ‘Ghost of Christmas’ yet to come.
When the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come visits Scrooge, he takes him to a rundown churchyard to see a pitiful, shabby grave site. When Scrooge sees his own name written there on the gravestone, he begs the spirit to give him another chance.
It is never too late to change. “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year,” Scrooge vows near end of the story. “I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!”
In other words, Scrooge realizes it is not too late to radically change his life.
As you can do for yourself.
“Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead. But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change” Scrooge
Most people base their view of what’s possible in the future on what has happened previously – their history, and how life is for them right ‘now’. In truth you can tear up both your past and your current reality and create a totally different life for yourself based on your dreams and effort.
Understand that life is led by choice and not by chance. Accepting that you are deliberately creating yourself and the world around you every day empowers you to be the author of your own story or the creator of a bridge to your future
Remember that your future is unwritten.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Eleanor Roosevelt
Accept right now that your life is in transition. It is in the process of changing from one state or condition to another. A bad one maybe, to a good one, from tears to joy, like you see in your dream.
Your entire life journey from birth, school days, early adulthood, to now, has been a life in transition, continually transforming, and this transformation will just continue. The question is, from this point forward, what will the transformation look like.
Today all I am suggesting you do is begin to daydream.
Write what you would like to become, accomplish, have, or do.
Set 10 goals.
If anything were possible, what would you aspire to?
If a genie appeared out of a lamp and grants you ten wishes, what would you wish for?
I would like ‘I Dream of Genie’ powers. Jackie Joyner-Kersee
Don’t limit yourself.
There will be plenty of time to separate the outrageous and absurd.
For this exercise just write down what you would ask for if anything was possible.
Just know there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. You have hopes and dreams that you can still fulfill.
How well prepared are you for your next transition? What might you need to do to be ready?
Once you have set your sights on 10 goals it is time to put a plan into place to help yourself achieve them. I would like to help you, and if you are prepared to give me 30 minutes of your time, I invite you to watch a video where I will teach you a process that will enable you to put together a plan, in fact a blueprint for your life. Watch it here. (you will need to subscribe, but I promise you I won’t share your details or bombard you with sales messages). I want to make my life plan! (Click here)
