You hold the power to mold your life in a better way, but this is very much dependent on getting control over your negative inner voice.
It was Jim Rohn that said ‘You have the power to mold your life how ever you want. To shape it and reshape it.’
As a life coach I follow the principle as laid down in this wonderful quote from Eleanor Roosevelt
“Your life is your own. You mold it. You make it. All anyone can do is to point out ways and means which have been helpful to others. Perhaps they will serve as suggestions to stimulate your own thinking until you know what it is that will fulfill you, will help you to find out what you want to do with your life.”
Sometimes, I know, it feels like life is happening to us and that we’re mere pawns in the game but the truth is you hold the power to mold your life in a better way.
I want you to see yourself as a diamond.
Maybe not the finished article, but a diamond in the making.
“A diamond’s creation requires immense pressure and intense temperatures to reach its highest potential. Without enduring the adversity and pressure of its environment, the diamond would never become the treasure it was meant to be. May the changes you grow through bring incredible value in helping you forge a remarkable and multi-faceted life.” Susan C. Young
We are diamonds in the rough just needing to be “shaped, cut, chiseled, refined and polished.”
Whatever adversity and troubles you’ve faced you can always find your way forward.
As a coach my role is to motivate and inspire you to believe in your possibilities.
While doing this I’d help you to quieten that negative inner voice in your mind that says all sorts of destructive things to you on a daily basis.
You know the ones I mean, the never-ending criticism, forewarning of more disappointment, failure, heartbreak.
Putting you down constantly.
I know it’s hard, shutting your inner critic up but you absolutely have to.
You already know you’re not perfect. Who is?
But you try to be a good person. Try to do the right things.
Why don’t you just tell your negative inner voice to f**k off?
This Internal monologue, also known as inner voice, internal speech, or verbal stream of consciousness, is thinking and talking all the time.
This negative inner voice when constantly full of negativity is the most destructive part of your psyche.
“Beautify your inner dialogue. Beautify your inner world with love light and compassion. Life will be beautiful.” Amit Ray
This negative inner voice reminds you of past failures, sorrows, or disappointments, torturing you with criticism, making you fearful of your future.
You’ve lived with it for so long, you probably don’t even notice it anymore.
Like an internal enemy, this negative inner voice is driven to keep you from your goals and diverts you from your destiny.
The most powerful weapon in your arsenal against this negative inner voice circumstances is to first become aware of it and the negative thoughts and self-critical attitudes it bombards you with.
“The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive. To put it more accurately… you usually don’t use it at all. It uses you.” Eckhart Tolle
Having recognized your negative inner voice you now need to be refusing to accept what it says.
Get angry with it if you must. Remind yourself that you are the boss, controller of your mind, and your thoughts, and that you refuse to accept its negative instructions.
Change your life by beginning to turn things around in your own inner voice, let it be positive, excited, ready to help you forge your life in the way that you desire.
I urge you not to compromise your future by any longer giving credence to your negative inner voice.
“It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?” Marianne Williamson
