People should never settle for a life of mediocrity, yet they do.
We stay in jobs we hate, relationships that are broken, leading lives where we have so little happiness.
Is your career or business stalled? Relationships a mess? Do you feel stuck? Are you ready to take the “next step” but not sure how or even what that is?
Or have you resigned yourself to living life this way for ever?
Maybe because you believe it’s easier to settle than face the battles ahead to make your life better than it is, you settle for a life of mediocrity. Well you shouldn’t, you already know its strangling you like a slow death.
Perhaps you’re terrified of change, failure and taking risks. But could anything really be worse than it is already.
“Stop letting your fear condemn you to mediocrity.” Dr Steve Maraboli
The things that you’re frightened to do are the things that you need to do because they carry your greatest growth. Just remember, fear is your opportunity to grow. Fear is your opportunity to become more. Be daring, bold, brave and do the things that frighten you.
You are here because you’re no longer willing to settle for a life of mediocrity. Instead, you are determined to set the goal of changing the things you can to be happy, not simply drifting along in life and complaining.
Life is confusing and chaotic. Amidst the pressure and noise, we need to change those things that need changing.
“Change the way you think, change the way you feel, raise the bar and don’t settle for mediocrity.”
I remember the moment my life changed, the moment I finally said, ‘I’ve had it! I know I’m much more than I’m demonstrating mentally, emotionally and physically in my life.’ I made a decision in that moment which was to alter my life forever. I decided to change virtually ever aspect of my life. I decided I would never again settle for less than I could be.
What needs changing?
You can bring about improvements in all aspects of life, as long as you take time to analyze each of them.
Work: your career and finances.
Health: your physical health.
Personal: personal growth and development , learning a new skill, being creative, self-discovery or continued learning.
Social: your relationships with friends, the time you take for play.
Spiritual: Peace of mind, faith, resolution of the ‘meaning of life’.
Family: romance and relationships
Looking at these aspects of life will help you to develop and focus on the right goals for you, the ones that just working towards them means you will never settle for a life of mediocrity.
It is time for you to wake up and take control of your life!
I can’t do it for you, but can point you towards the things you need to be doing.
Going through the current aspects of life is your starting point!
You are free to do whatever you want, wherever you want, however you want. The truth is life is way too short to settle for anything less than what you truly want.
The only way to embrace your potential is to stop settling. You are only limiting yourself and wasting your precious time. The moment you settle for a life of mediocrity is the moment you begin to die a slow death. Life needs to be a journey of continuous progression toward the goals in your life.
“Something deep in the human heart breaks at the thought of a life of mediocrity.” C. S. Lewis
You have to have dreams, they’re what keeps you going when things aren’t going well. They’re what motivates and drives and excites you enough to keep your feet firm and your pace steady.
With all the unknowns and the problems that don’t have answers yet and the inadequacy you may feel, you can take control of your life, and make it special. I don’t care how old you may be, or how life is for you right now, you can achieve so much more.
And please remember: it doesn’t matter where you start, only that you begin.
“Don’t settle for mediocrity. Take a chance. Take a risk. Find that passion. Rekindle it. Fall in love all over again. It’s really worth it.” Brian Cranston
