Do you think to yourself – Is this it? when thinking about your life. If so, read this…
So many people end up asking themselves the question ‘is this it?’
This shows that they’re simply not satisfied by the life they’re living.
If you’re asking this question then almost certainly you also feel despondent, stuck in a rut, desperate to make things better.
In an age where money and personal possessions seem to be all people strive for, it can be difficult to feel good about your life when you don’t have these things. Perhaps you have reached a point in your life where you know that unless you can make positive changes then chances are you’ll only ever know dissatisfaction.
As a coach, I see many clients who struggle with the ‘is this it’ question, but they’re not sure what to do about it feeling a sense of deadness inside. They are unclear about who they are, what life is about, what meaning it has and where they belong in the world. By asking ‘is this it’ means they are at a crossroads in life.
Is this where you find yourself? My coaching clients are all very different people, with completely diverse lifestyles, yet they each have in common this lingering doubt of whether life is as good as it should be. They each have concluded that it is not, they want more, particularly when it comes to having a purpose.
True satisfaction in life must come from within, not without. When life has no purpose things will always seem unfulfilling.
You have to look inwards to start seeing the potential your life has right now. There is a life out there that is meant for you.
As a life coach I know that we are capable of finding all the answers we seek by asking ourselves the right questions.
Despite the current reality of your life, you need to find your reason for living. Determining your why. Giving from the part of you that is uniquely you and finding the way for you to add value to the world.
The crucial question you need to be asking is not ‘is this it’ but ‘what makes your life worthwhile?’
Take 20 minutes right now and give yourself the time to think about your answer.
Tell me in the comments what makes life worthwhile for you.
