I’m never surprised after giving one of my talks on blogging, that the most common question attendees ask me, is how have I made it possible to make money with my blogs.
To me, if there was one magic answer that I could give, it would start with me telling bloggers and internet marketers that they have to offer their readers something they really want and need, it’s got to be either providing them with pleasure or taking them away from pain.
I would continue by telling them to – Deliver value. Solve problems. Provide answers.
But yes I know you are looking to make money online, so you have a blog and now you want to monetize it. Please keep in mind that monetization is very much dependent on traffic and you developing the trust of your readers.
Of course there are lots of ways to make money.
1. Google Adsense
2. Banner Ads
3. Affiliate Products
4. Affiliate Product Reviews
5. Advertisers
6. Donations
7. E-Commerce Shop
These can all pale into insignificance by you developing and launching your very own product online. The power of having your own product can be immense.
I love blogging but never thought that I’d actually be able to do it full time and actually earn a living off of it. A strong reason why in fact I’ve been able to do this is the money I earn from selling my own products. By selling your own products you can create awesome value for yourself and your community.
Any blogger can make money by taking their expertise, either within the scope of the content that they create or some other unique skill and craft, and package it up into a product.
Let me give you some examples of what you could be creating:
- eBooks
- Traditional books and writing
- Artwork, arts, handmade crafts
- Software (desktop/mobile/web apps/ plugins)
- WordPress Themes
- eCourse Training Material
- Workshops and Coaching Programs
- Premium members only access membership sites.
Once you’ve made your product let people see it. Don’t keep it a secret, what is the point? Make sure it is always visible on your blog. Create a static page telling people all about this product, then make sure you have a link or banner to that page in your sidebar. Shout out to all your readers so they take a look. Maybe include a footer at the bottom of each of your blog posts, just to make sure nobody misses what you have available to them. It’s essential that you create some buzz.
So if you want to earn money my best advice to you is to use a multitude of different methods, however, only when you have created your own products will you start to see real income coming from your blog.
So remember, sell products people want or need relevant to your niche.
