Blogging success is different for all of us.
What do you think defines success as a blogger? This could be a variety of things. You may measure it by your number of visitors, maybe how many comments you receive on your posts. There is your Alexa and Technorati Rank, or perhaps the authority you are seen having in your social networking circle. Of course many will measure their success from the amount of money they make. I believe it is a combination of things you do as a blogger that makes you successful.
Many first time bloggers delude themselves by thinking that once their blog is setup if they post regularly traffic to their blog will just pick up and readers will come. But it’s not that easy. It takes much more than posting to drive traffic to your site, and gain readership.
Today I want to put forward 5 keys to blogging success.
Planning – If you really want to succeed at anything you’ll get there faster with a plan. Spending time planning will help you get where you want to be. You should put in the time and energy to plan your dream life, blog, business, or whatever else you choose to focus on because with planning the results will always be best. A big part of running a successful blog is putting in the thinking time to create a strategy. The better prepared a blogger is, the more likely they are to get results. Without proper planning you will not achieve anywhere near as good results, as when you plan.
Mindset – Having the right mindset is a key part of blogging success. We all can have what we desire in life or have the excuses for not working towards what we want. One thing I see to be very common with highly successful bloggers is that they have a better mindset, they have the mindset of “I can do it”, they believe in themselves. One of the greatest enemies of success you can have is you yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself then you can hardly be a successful blogger. It is very important to have a positive mindset, a mindset that believes in you succeeding because this will enhance you to do more towards making yourself a success.
Passion – Being passionate about your blog plays a huge role in nurturing the right success mindset. Passion increases focus, and focus produces your best effort. Passion will make you work harder to make things happen. If you want to succeed at blogging you then need blog with true passion, or there’s no point in having a blog. You have to have the drive, tenacity, and persistence driven by passion to endure the ups and downs of blogging. You need to be passionate about whatever it is you’re writing about and be enthusiastic about writing so that passion will really come across in your blog posts.
Hard Work – The time and commitment you put into blogging is crucial. At the end of the day, the reality of blogging is that to be successful, you’ve got to write regularly and consistently, and you’ve got to find the time to do it. You have to put the time in to drive traffic to your blog through your marketing effort, and building your followers through building strong relationships in the networking groups. There are many things a bloggers has to do to succeed, but if you’re prepared to put the time, effort and work hard at it you will not fail.
Content – There is no getting away from the fact that we bloggers have a very simple formula to follow.
content = traffic = money=success
We always talk about content is king, and so it is. Content is truly king in the blogosphere. You have to produce quality content, time after time, on a regular basis. There is no getting away from that. Giving value to your readers through content is essential.
Help others – Providing help without expecting anything back is also to me a prerequisite to blogging success. Being genuinely helpful is one of the best things you can do. Keep asking yourself “Who can I help today?” It’s all about the human connection and exchange of thoughts, ideas and inspirations. The sooner you understand that, the shorter the time will be for you creating an inspiring and successful blog. It never hurts to compliment others, and make people feel special, but always be real.
