My life over the last 6 years has perfectly demonstrated that you must embrace and learn from failure. Failure will touch all our lives, but success will come to only those prepared to never give up. It’s been a difficult time for me recently. I am trying to complete my never give up book, which has been a massive driving force to me for a long time now. Yet so much of my time has been spent driving up and down the motorway to be at the bedside of my mother while she’s been fighting for her life, and this has not only physically exhausted me but required so much of my time. For the first time in years I’ve been unable to update by beloved Healthy Lifestyles Living blog on a frequent basis.
Right now I’m driven by the knowledge that the sweetest victory is the one that takes you through the greatest difficulties. Tough times may challenge us but they bring out our very best. Nothing will stop me from achieving my dreams, this is what I know beyond any doubt.
Much of my journey through life has forced me to reach down deep inside of myself, fighting with everything I’ve got, refusing to ever give up. But what I have learnt is that you must be prepared to embrace and learn from failure if you are to achieve amazing success.
I met with the manager of a Co-operative Bank branch today . I’ve been banking with them for almost 6 years now. We were just finalising a few additions to my banking portfolio when they reminded me that in just over a month, all records of my bankruptcy will be removed. No longer will my credit file hold any mention of it. It’s will have totally disappeared. I couldn’t help smiling, after all I have come a long way since that fateful day, the 17th January 2008 when I was declared bankrupt. I have got to the end of the bad times officially showing how well I was able to embrace and learn from failure.
Since then it feels as though I’ve been fighting in the trenches, yet have survived every battle and managed to come out the other side having learnt so much, proved my perseverance, and enjoying the success of my online business.
I believe my journey has proven that you can reach unparalleled heights, making the impossible possible, you can’t fear failure, you must think big, and you have to push yourself and let nothing stop you.
You have to embrace the possibility of failure meet a variety of challenges head on, particularly when you’re reinventing yourself like I have one on to do since my darkest days.
During the last 6 years I’ve learnt so much about myself, discovered more about my strengths, talents and determination, and discovered the happiness of working around your passions. I have also discovered more and more about failure. Failure is merely a learning process that we have to go through.
In the business I have built over the last 3 years with Neil my business partner we have probably made more mistakes than right decisions. But ever mistake has enabled us to learn so much that it’s enabled us to take massive leaps forward.
I want to keep my message simple today. Lie will throw up obstructions, difficulties, problems, and outright failures, but you need to embrace them and allow yourself to discover how to turn everything around and go on to your ultimate success.
I’ve made a load of mistakes in my life but they’ve never stopped me. Failures are inevitable, but as long as you learn from them and keep moving forward, you’ll eventually get to where you want to be. Just learn from every mistake you make and every failure that comes way.
